A study conducted for the Police Chief magazine by Readex Research of Stillwater, Minnesota, found that 17 percent of the magazine's readers were planning police facility construction projects in the next two years. Considering the duration and cost of a construction project, this finding suggests a significant number of law enforcement leaders and their jurisdictions are making a serious commitment of time and money. This issue highlights police facility construction around the United States, and in May 2006 the Police Chief will focus on police facilities.
