Colorful handcuffs

Monadnock Lifetime Products Inc. announces that the Monadnock Double Cuff is now available in pink, purple, green, blue, yellow, and orange in addition to the standard colors of black, white, and red. The cuff is designed to prevent the subject from being cut and to offer plenty of room to write directly on the cuff. They include two individual cuffs rather than a standard single cuff designed to restrain the wrists or ankles, and they are designed to be used with the safety cutter to easily and quickly remove the restraints.

Protective eyewear

Willson Safety Products announces two new lens tints in the A800 Series line of safety eyewear for general protection. The amber lenses are designed to filter out light at the blue end of the spectrum while allowing green and red light to pass through, lower the haze associated with blue light, and enable clearer vision when used in gray conditions. The blue mirror tint is designed to reduce eyestrain and fatigue associated with sunlight and glare while providing true color recognition.

Rescue Stick
Water rescue tool

Mustang Survival announces the Rescue Stick (MRD100), an inflatable water rescue tool designed to provide rapid flotation assistance to a person at risk of drowning. The baton-shaped Rescue Stick can be thrown near the victim, and by design it automatically inflates to a large horseshoe shape once it makes contact with the water. The inflated Rescue Stick is designed to help the victim stay afloat with his head above water until help arrives. Designed to be compact (14 inches) and lightweight (less than a pound), to be thrown 100 feet or farther with accuracy, to provide 35 pounds of flotation in seconds to a person at risk, and to be simple to repack and reuse.

Mobile computer

L-3 Communications Displays Group announces the next generation of its MobileVu mobile data computer for law enforcement. The computer is engineered to allow users to leverage the functions of multiple federated systems and integrate them into a single unit designed to be light, take up little space, and have low power requirements.

Boot

LaCrosse Footwear Inc. introduces the Alpha Lite work boot for outdoor wear. The waterproof boot is designed to feature durable rubber and self-insulating lightweight neoprene. Comfort features include rear or side gussets designed to allow the boot to open up for extra room. The Alpha Lite Stable is a 12-inch pull-on boot. The Alpha Lite 3.5 is an 18-inch boot with an aggressive outsole for rough terrain. The Alpha Lite 5.0 is an 18-inch boot designed to offer extra insulation and an aggressive outsole, and the Alpha Lite 7.0 is an 18-inch boot with extra insulation for warmth.

Vapor explosives detector

The Scintrex Trace Corporation introduces the EVD 3100, a portable vapor explosives detector designed to sniff out TATP, EGDN, DMNB, and ICAO taggants and analyze samples in less than a minute. Other products in the Scintrex Trace line include the E-3500, a portable explosives detector, the E-5000, a desktop unit designed to detect both explosives and narcotics, MZ8 walkthrough metal detector, and the CBT (computer-based trainer), which is designed to produce simulated X-ray images for screening purposes. The Bottle Scanner from Scintrex Trace’s parent company, Autoclear, is designed to identify hazardous liquids inside bottles.

In-car video

Kustom Signals introduces the Digital Eyewitness ION Eclipse in-car video, engineered to allow flexibility in customizing the system initially and upgrading later. It features MPEG1, MPEG2, and MPEG4 compression schemes, with a choice of recording rates for each. It offers hard drive, DVD-RAM, and Compact Flash storage and manual, hard-wired, and wireless transfer file options. Several controller-monitor configurations exist: using an integrated overhead console with monitor; mounting the monitor and controller separately; or using a mobile computer as controller and monitor. It also includes up to three minutes of pre-event recording.

Mobile device covers

Saunders offers RhinoSkin cases designed to protect mobile devices such as the Blackberry, Treo, and Axim without hindering access to function buttons and ports. The cases come in leather and aluminum for the Blackberry 7100 and 8700 series and the Treo 600, 650, and 700 series and aluminum for all Dell Axim devices. All black leather cases are covered with sheepskin and reinforced by shields on the front and back. All RhinoSkin cases include integrated or removable belt clips.

Software

Intergraph Corporation announces the Incident Command and Control System. The software is designed to capture, analyze, organize, and share information with intelligence and first responder communities to provide a common operational picture to help them prevent and respond to critical incidents. The system is engineered to quickly identify the location of a fixed line to dial emergency calls and locate the nearest police patrol vehicle to the reported incident site to improve reaction time to any emergency incident and further better services to the public.

First responder cards

General Dynamics Information Technology introduces First Responder Authentication Credential (FRAC) identity cards. The FRAC cards are part of an identity management system for first responders that is designed to create a common, interoperable credential that enables first responders to quickly and easily access government buildings and incident areas in the event of a terrorist attack or other disaster. The cards are engineered to be compliant with Federal Information Processing Standard 201, save time, help responders more effectively assist victims, and allow officials to electronically confirm the identity of first responders in the field in order to grant or deny them access.

Security Lock
High-security lock

High-security lock CyberLock cylinders are designed to quickly convert existing mechanical locks to high-security locks by replacing the mechanical lock cylinder with a new electronic cylinder. Each electronic cylinder contains a microprocessor and memory and is designed to conform to the exact dimensions of the mechanical cylinder it is replacing. The CyberLock cylinder is designed to be virtually impossible to pick, and the CyberKey is designed to be virtually impossible to duplicate. Hand cleanser

DQE Inc. introduces GelFAST Anywear hand cleanser designed to help reduce the spread of infection. GelFAST Anywear is a personal wearable alcohol gel dispenser shaped like a pager that is designed to provide effortless and convenient point-of-care hand hygiene. The hand gel’s active ingredient is 70 percent ethyl alcohol combined with multiple skin conditioners. This product is designed to be clipped onto clothing (or to be worn on a lanyard) and to contain enough gel to last an eight-hour shift.

Squad-Fitters Inc. announces that it now carries National Cycle replacement windshields for a variety of police motorcycles. The Road King shield features thick four-millimeter polycarbonate construction and Quantum hardcoating for impact and crack resistance. Also available is the ST1300 VStream windshield with an advanced V shape and dimensional contours designed to push the wind vortex out and away from the riders’ helmet and make for a more peaceful, quieter environment. Quantum-coated Lexan polycarbonate construction is engineered to help reduce wind noise and turbulence while providing a clear view.

FullPro introduces SoundVision eye protection designed specifically for use with earmuffs and headsets. Tracking device

Telespial Systems announces the Trackstick Pro, a vehicle tracking system that is also designed to be used in a variety of disaster relief efforts, including property surveying, evacuation route planning, and search and rescue. The Trackstick Pro is designed to help document and validate the location of anything that moves and to provide detailed mapping of areas that were covered by relief and rescue teams. The Trackstick Pro is engineered to track police and parking enforcement vehicles and to record its location histories for later retrieval by a computer through an integrated USB port.

Gun safes for the home

GunVault introduces a new series of full-size weapon safes for the home. The new GunVault safes feature a massive, one-inch thick steel composite door, four one-inch locking bolts, and 12-gauge unibody steel construction. Available in two models, the new Gun-Vault 5000 safes include the Tru Rack, a rifle storage system designed to offer barrel-down or barrel-up gun storage and thereby allow the owner to use every slot in the rack. Taurus introduces the 24/7 PRO pistol for law enforcement and security professionals. The 24/7 PRO features a single-action/double-action trigger designed to prevent total failure by automatically reverting to double-action mode to fire a faulty cartridge. The pistol is available in 9mm, 40-caliber, and .45 ACP at barrel lengths of 3-1/3 inches, 4 inches, or 5 inches. All feature an ergonomic grip designed to provide a customized feel for every user and every hand size, Heinie Straight Eight sights, and a Picatinny rail system designed to accommodate a slide-on light or laser sight. Electronic transporter

Zap introduces the new Zappy3 Pro electronic transporter for patrol and police operations. The Zappy3 Pro, a three-wheeled version of the Zappy electric scooter, is designed to go up to 24 miles on a single charge and has a top speed of 15 miles per hour. The Pro is designed to plug into any conventional 110-volt socket, and it is designed to produce no emissions, making it safe for indoor operations.

Germicidal wipe

OMS Enterprises announces Hexistat, a line of alcohol-free germicidal wipes designed to destroy most bacteria, microbes, and viruses. The active ingredient in Hexistat, chlorhexidine gluconate, is not toxic and is less likely than alcohol, iodine, and other disinfectants to irritate the skin. A typical application of Hexistat is designed to protect for several hours. Each Hexistat germicidal wipe is packaged in an pouch that is designed to be easy to open.

Desktop analyst

Attensity announces LEADS (Law Enforcement Analyst Desktop Solution), a secure, browser-based application designed to put a combination of criminal analytic tools at the fingertips of police analysts. LEADS is designed to enable agents to access, analyze, and organize data from freeform text—unstructured information stored in police reports, FBI reports, interaction logs, legal or case documents, and public information—to identify, investigate, and impede criminal activity. Attensity LEADS includes link analysis and visualization features from ChoicePoint’s i2 Analyst Notebook. By design, analysts can use LEADS to request daily reports and link analysis charts based on previously defined case parameters or emerging issues and investigate relationships among terms, issues, criminals, and suspects visually, semantically, or by event.

Respirator

AVON Rubber’s Protection Division announces that the new C50 respirator is now available for purchase by law enforcement, first-responder, counterterrorist, and military teams. The full facemask by AVON Protection is designed to provide respiratory protection, comfort, and compatibility for law enforcement tactical teams. When equipped with the appropriate filter, the C50 mask is designed to protect against a range of threats, including chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial materials, biological and radiological hazards, and riot agents. The AVON C50 respirator features a distortion-free panoramic polyurethane visor that is designed to be highly flexible, to be scratch and impact resistant, and to provide better vision and weapon sighting.

Identity theft database

The Law Enforcement Technology Information Exchange (LETIX) announces the launch of the LETIX Universal Case Identification Database (LUCID). LUCID is designed to be a national system that links law enforcement agencies at the local, state, and federal levels together with retailers and financial institutions in the ongoing battle against credit card fraud and identity theft. The new system is geared toward investigators in both law enforcement agencies and private enterprises, giving them access to the data necessary to investigate financial crimes, particularly credit card fraud and identity theft. Basic access to the system is provided at no cost to approved local law enforcement agencies.

VoIP radio dispatch system

Zetron Inc. announces the release of its new Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) radio dispatch system (RDS), version 1.5. The system consists of up to six PC operator positions running applications software and one or more Series 6000 SIP Radio Gateways (SRGs). Each operator position is designed to use a Windows-based application and simultaneously monitor up to 20 or more radios. The Model 6002 SRG is engineered to support two radios using either direct local connection or remote 2/4-wire connection using either E&M or Tone Remote Control (TRC) signaling.

Wireless network

MyCellularBroadband.com introduces the Internet-in-a-Box, a military-grade portable wireless network designed to quickly establish a high-speed Internet connection virtually anywhere. The system is designed to be used virtually anywhere—in a moving vehicle, at a crime scene, or during a disaster. The IAB contains a 20-hour battery pack, a Sprint/Verizon Mobile Broadband connection, and an 802.11x WiFi connection. Zebra Technologies Corporation introduces enhanced firmware for the ZebraNet Wireless Plus print server (WPPS), available as a free upgrade to existing ZebraNet WPPS users. This version is designed to extend the wireless security and flexibility of the ZebraNet WPPS with advanced encryption security plus support for additional products. The upgraded ZebraNet Wireless Plus print server is also designed to address IT system administrators’ needs for advanced security by accepting new radio cards from Motorola and Cisco that support advanced security standards and protocols.

Water treatment machine

Spectra Watermakers introduces the Solar Cube, a device designed to make clean water and electricity available during a disaster. Powered by sunlight and wind, the Solar Cube is designed to filter and purify polluted water or seawater—up to 3,500 gallons a day—and make it safe for drinking. It is also designed to provide enough energy for public safety officials to power refrigeration for emergency medical supplies and keep emergency communication equipment operational. The Solar Cube is designed to be assembled quickly on the scene, to clean its own filters, and to have a service life of at least seven years.

Communications-Applied Technology (C-AT) announces the Incident Commanders’ Radio Interface 2P-E, a lightweight portable repeater designed to extend radio communications for first response teams operating beyond normal signal coverage in subway tunnels and underground parking garages; in high-rise buildings, shopping malls, and airports; at stadiums, arenas, and casinos; and in ravines and caves. The ICRI 2P-E is also designed to provide interoperability by connecting any two incompatible radio, cell, satellite, and landline phones. The unit is engineered to operate for 24 hours on six AA batteries.
