The All Traffic Solutions SPEED-i video-imaging system offers an adjustable, forward-aim camera housed fully inside the case of a SPEEDsentry radar speed sign, allowing agencies to conduct highly discreet monitoring and imaging. The camera is completely hidden from the motorist’s view. SPEED-i can be set to record only when vehicle speeds exceed programmable levels. Three electronic zoom areas create informative images, which are captured directly onto the camera hard drive and include critical details via an image overlay, including vehicle speed, direction of travel, location, speed limit, display status, and date and time.

Mobile training facility
Meggitt Defense Systems fats/caswell announces the Road Range, a self-contained mobile firearms training facility. The Road Range is an easily transportable, three-position live fire range housed in a ballistically secure trailer. At 8.5 feet wide and available in 48- and 53-foot lengths, the trailer’s interior is lined with thermal insulating materials and covered with ballistiplate steel. The walls and ceiling are covered in acoustical material for sound absorption, and the floor is finished with shredded-rubber floor panels, all of which provides complete ballistic security and maximum noise reduction.

Wireless Transfer
Wireless file transfer software
Digital Ally, Inc., manufacturer of the DVM-500 digital in-car video system integrated into a rearview mirror, announces that a wireless software file transfer option is now available for all new and existing units. If the wireless network connection is lost or data transfer is interrupted, files will be saved, and the software will resume the transfer of the files when it reconnects to the network. After the file transfer is completed and verified, the files will be automatically removed from the compact flash card and automatically uploaded into Digital Ally’s Video Manager Software.

In-car camera system
The Shield Series Digital In-Car Camera System by Fleet Safety Equipment Inc./FS-CAM was designed by law enforcement for law enforcement. Standard features include automatic vehicle locator (AVL), digital photo capture, G-force indicator, prerecord, and wireless download. The Commander system also includes Fleet Safety’s central processing unit; a camera with mounting plate, swivel, and cable; a body microphone kit; a wireless bridge for download with antennae; a console interface for flash and Universal Serial Bus (USB); a rugged keyboard with a touchpad mouse; and an LCD touch screen and 380-nit mount.

Broadband network
Developed by Inmarsat, the Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) is engineered to deliver voice and broadband data through a highly portable terminal. Quick to deploy, it can deliver secure ondemand access to telephony, e-mail, videoconferencing, and the Internet to multiple simultaneous users in a mobile command post. BGAN also supports interoperability solutions that enable emergency responders to continue using their standard radios and cellular phones at a disaster site, regardless of the state of the terrestrial network.

Tire deflation system
Phoenix International, Ltd., Wisconsin-based manufacturer of the MagnumSpike! tire deflation system, announces the introduction of its new MagnumClaw! product. Placing a MagnumClaw! under a stopped vehicle’s tire guarantees that if the vehicle attempts to flee, the three spikes in the MagnumClaw! will puncture and deflate the tire. The 2.5-inch patented spikes come in a pocket-sized folding case that is laid flat under the tire of a stationery car at a checkpoint, for example, or in a situation where the driver of a vehicle has been stopped for questioning.

Mobile bomb squad command unit
La Boit Inc. announces its Mobile Police Command/Bomb Squad Unit, which can be customized to order, with such features as two removable lights mounted to the rear of the unit; front and rear bumpers custom fabricated with a 16,000-pound winch built into the front; and dual ramps and roll-up doors designed for loading and transporting a bomb robot. Other features include an emergency hatch exit on the roof, red and blue emergency LED strobe lights and scene lights, and automatic awnings. Fingerprint identification system
Cogent Systems announces its BlueCheck mobile identification device. BlueCheck devices, utilizing secure wireless communications, operate with mobile computers in officers’ patrol cars to provide access to identification databases. A secure network connection allows officers to perform a rapid fingerprint check of subjects in the field and receive an identification response within seconds, thus giving officers on the street another tool to positively identify and apprehend criminals.
