Scheduling software

InTime’s ISE (InTime Scheduling Engine) software is designed to help law enforcement agencies manage their scheduling. In addition to the core ISE scheduling engine, ISE has four modules. The Notifications module sends alerts for many types of events. Employee Self-Serve enables employees to access their schedules over an intranet or the Internet. The Employee Certifications module tracks all training and certification information and ensures employees are in compliance during scheduling. Overtime and Extra Duty is designed to integrate the allocation of overtime shifts and extra-duty assignments directly into the working schedule.

Crisis management system

Prepared Response, Inc., has released a major upgrade of the Rapid Responder Crisis Management System to help first responders save lives and protect property. Some of the highlights of the new release include improved navigation, RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds, enhanced geographic information system (GIS) integration and functionality, expanded campus emergency preparedness features, a common alerting protocol for warnings associated with natural disasters and weather conditions, extended documentation for staff management and training, an event and incident tracking module, improved IP video, and enhanced imagery features.

Mapping software

The latest release of FM-Web, FMWeb version 8.45, includes a complete revamp of the mapping functionality. Enhancements include an integration of Google Maps, the ability to increase the map size, map label enhancements, and map display enhancements. Users are able to toggle quickly and effortlessly between Google Maps and their default maps, which are synched in terms of coverage and resolution. Additional information, including GPS speed, vehicle position, and vehicle heading, is displayed in the vehicle label on the map. Street numbers are no longer required to obtain results.

Bollard array

Delta Scientific announces its new DSC650 Shallow Foundation Bollard arrays. The new DSC650 fixed bollard modules will stop a 5,000-pound (2,300-kg) vehicle going 50 miles (80 kilometers) per hour. The module can stand alone or function as part of an extended array of shallow substrates, including those that are not level or have turns. One model allows either one or two of the bollards to be removed, to let vehicles through. They can also be locked to prevent unauthorized removal. The other model features three bollards at a 90-degree angle, for corners.

Elevated guard booth

Modu-Built Industries, Inc., has teamed up with Stamm Manufacturing to produce an elevated guard booth. The Modu-Built Vantage is a lightweight, fiberglass guard booth on a trailermounted scissor lift. With an eye-level height of up to 23 feet, the Vantage gives security and law enforcement personnel the ability to monitor crowds, perimeters, and the surrounding area from a stationary point. Custom built to the specifications of the customers, the building is five feet wide and can be five, seven, or nine feet in length.

Fusion center technology

FusionX is a comprehensive fusion center architecture created by Microsoft Corporation and the Illinois State Police to enhance information sharing and security across jurisdictions for a more effective and efficient approach to law enforcement intelligence collaboration. It is designed to allow for seamless communication and a leveraging of existing systems by using the Global Justice Extensible Markup Language (XML) standards. In addition, security measures are in place to ensure that access to networks, systems, and information is controlled and monitored.

Camera dome

Vicon Industries, Inc., announces the S10-CH mini camera dome. The S10-CH mini dome features a color camera and lens with DSS (Digital Slow Shutter), pan/tilt drive, receiver, and CPU-based electronics all packed in a lightweight enclosure intended for use in indoor installations (IP66). The camera has an integral 3.8–38 mm autoiris varifocal lens and provides 10X optical zoom combined with 10X digital zoom capability, for a total of 100X zoom functionality. The dome offers programmable presets, user-defined patterns (autotours), touring capability, user-defined sectors, and privacy mask zones.

Base station/repeater

Midland Radio Corporation introduces its feature-rich, high-performance P25 Base Tech III fixed base stations/epeaters for reliable communications even in high–radio frequency (RF) environments. Emergency situations require interference-free communications, and the compact-designed P25 Base Tech III is designed to offer excellent high noise floor rejection. All P25 Base Tech III systems offer a robust 500-channel capacity, VoIP interface, and a low standby current of less than 300 mA. Engineered to cover the VHF and UHF spectrums, they offer continuous-duty TX power from 50 to 110 watts. Midland offers a five-year warranty on all stations.

Digital evidence storage software

With LYNX Enterprise software, users can store all their digital evidence (photos, audio, pdf, videos, and so on) in one database on their own hardware. LYNX Enterprise is designed to allow users to search, view, print, mark up (redline), share, and communicate evidence instantly while controlling access with user and group rights. Batches are designed to be annotated using unlimited userdefined search fields with a mouse click. Digital evidence can be linked with record management systems (RMSs). Tamperproof audit trails show the chain of custody for any piece of evidence in the system.

Vehicle floor mats

MacNeil announces its WeatherTech FloorLiners for light trucks, SUVs, and minivans. Unique semiflexible material is engineered to line the interior carpet accurately and completely. Computer measurements of interior surfaces are designed to offer a consistently perfect fit. High-Density Tri-Extruded (HDTE) material is designed to allow for a rigid core for strength while offering surface friction to the carpet, as well as tactile feel to the surface. The surface is engineered to create channels that carry fluids and debris to a lower reservoir with further channeling to help minimize fluid movement while driving. ■
