Evidence collection kits with carrying cases

Portable multiband radio
Thales’ Liberty Multiband Land Mobile Radio is a multiband portable radio interoperable across all public safety bands (136–174, 380–520, 700, and 800 MHz), linking government agencies and first responders with a single radio. It provides all modes standardized for public safety use, including analog FM and Project 25 (both in conventional and trunked modes). The Liberty LMR provides full encryption capabilities, including DES, AES, and OTAR. The radio’s Mil-Spec metal housing is submersible to two meters.

Online bachelor’s degree
Underscoring the quality and affordability of its online Bachelor’s in Business Administration Degree programs, Northcentral University announces that its undergraduate business programs have been rated a “2009 Best Buy” and ranked 28th out of a field of 83 colleges and universities by Get.Educated.com, a 20-year old national consumer group that evaluates and ranks online colleges for cost and credibility. The 2009 rankings will stand through July 2011 when the results of a new evaluation will be released.

Training tracking software
The Acadis Readiness Suite by Envisage was designed to address the unique challenges of law enforcement training organizations. Acadis tracks personnel, employment, training, and certifications in one consolidated enterprise system. On-demand access to data and powerful logistics tools let agencies schedule training and manage resources so their workforce is prepared. It also provides secure Web-based applications for police agencies, including online registration, in-service reporting, and detailed information about their officers. Acadis is a Web-based enterprise resource planning system adheres to federal security and data interoperability standards.

Automatic license plate reader
ELSAG North America is the developer of the Mobile Plate Hunter-900 (MPH-900). This automatic license plate reader (ALPR) is deployed in over 570 agencies across all 50 U.S. states, aiding in missions such as recovery of stolen vehicles, highway safety, collection of delinquent taxes, drug interdiction, homeland security, and others. The MPH-900 has proven itself an invaluable law enforcement tool. It reads up to 50 plates a second from all 50 states, day or night, in any weather.

Shoplifting prevention programs
The National Association for Shoplifting Prevention (NASP) is the nationwide leader in shoplifting prevention efforts. NASP’s shoplifter education programs are currently utilized by more than 2,500 criminal and juvenile justice professionals in over 500 communities. NASP works with police departments nationwide to implement proven, effective “offense specific” programs as part of a citation, diversion, or retailer-initiated program, at no cost to the police department. Video surveillance system
Wanco Inc., and Arteco have partnered to provide the Portable Intelligent Video Solution. This product allows security personnel to view and control cameras from a self-sustained remote location using a personal computer and an Internet connection. Versatile pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras and an integrated digital video recorder make site monitoring easy. Users can control the cameras, access live and recorded video, and configure the equipment remotely or via the integrated control center. Up to four cameras can be mounted atop an electrically hoisted mast, including thermal cameras, radar units, motion sensors, lights, and audible alarms. The system uses hybrid engine technology and an industrial cellular modem to remain self-sustained for 30 days or longer.

Floodlights
Whelen Engineering Company introduces the Pioneer Plus Super-LED with twice the brightness of the original Pioneer in the same size housing and all the supporting hardware for any application. Single and dual lightheads provide 5,000 or 10,000 usable lumens in a rugged aluminum housing. Solid-state electronics and lamp source are designed to be reliable and eliminate the high cost of lamp or ballast replacements. Instant on/off eliminates high current in-rush and warm-up time. These floodlights are engineered to produce no ultra violet rays so they won’t attract insects during nighttime operation. Pioneer Plus floodlights can also be flashed for added secondary warning in the “Clearing Right of Way Mode.” Available in 12 or 24 volts, with a wide range of mounting styles.

Sights
Trijicon, Inc., introduces its new Trijicon RMR Sight—a patent-pending new generation Ruggedized Miniature Reflex designed to improve shooter precision and accuracy with any style or caliber of weapon. Features include new large, easy-to-use adjusters that allow for quick one Minute of Angle (MOA) per click adjustment for windage and elevation using a common screwdriver or shell casing and rapid target acquisition. A battery-free model features dual illumination and comes in dot sizes of 9 or 13 MOA. This battery-free mini reflex sight model measures a mere 1.78” by 1.24” by1.03” and weighs only 1.22 ounces. An LED version features illumination provided by a standard 2032 battery and comes in dot sizes of four or eight MOA.

Command center console
Tuffy’s Command Center Console assembly is modular with components available separately for maximum flexibility. This lockable security console features a comfortable 2” thick full-length padded arm rest, removable convenience tray, and lid support gas strut and is constructed from welded 16 gauge steel. Tuffy’s 1/4” thick patented Pry-Guard II latching system secures the lid shut. The front electronics console equipment mounting area provides 12” of face plate mounting capacity and is angled for easy viewing and operation of digital radios and switches. The electronics console includes four weather resistant marine grade power ports with caps. Tuffy’s face plates are available for most popular electronic communications equipment, light controllers, switches, and power supplies. There is also a Mic holder bracket included with face plates for select radios. The Mic holders can be mounted in a variety of convenient locations and angles. Custom face plates are also available. The drink holder assembly features two oversized drink holders with anti-rattle drink fingers, a convenient storage tray and special small flashlight and pen holders. ■
