an Rosenblatt, executive director of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, was presented with a Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) lifetime achievement award on August 1, 2011. Making the presentation were COPS Director Bernard K. Melekian; Assistant Attorney General Laurie O. Robinson; and IACP President Mark A. Marshall, chief of police in Smithfield, Virginia. The award honors Dan’s outstanding contributions to the law enforcement field and unwavering commitment to advancing the practice of community policing. Dan has led the IACP since October 1989. He has announced his retirement and will be leaving his post effective October 31, 2011. For the past 22 years, the IACP has benefited from Dan’s leadership. Association members and staff wish Dan well as he begins the next phase in his life and his career. ■ Top
