Training scenario material

Situational training facilities are found throughout North America. Many facilities offer separate buildings or a permanent, concrete maze to provide situational training scenarios. The Hufcor FlexTact system is designed to provide scenarios of multiple building layouts in a single facility. The system uses specially designed operable wall panels hung from an overhead tracking system. Hufcor’s Flex-Tact design is intended to maximize the flexibility of the training center by using time-tested overhead partition track and trolley systems to move the panels into place. The system allows room changes to be completed in minutes.

Training simulators

VirTra Systems has updated its firearms training simulators with a new subwoofer option that further enhances training scenario immersion. The option, available on the VirTra 180-degree simulator and 300-degree simulator, enables customers to improve scenario realism with a powerful 600-watt subwoofer that intensifies low-pitched audio frequencies. The addition of the subwoofer enhances the low-pitch frequency response of the simulator audio system, adding intense realism to sound effects such as gunshots, explosions, helicopters, and sirens.

The seminar provides a step-by-step plan to assist the government agencies in the fields of law enforcement, fire and rescue, emergency management, and communications dispatch in planning, funding, and obtaining new facilities. Some of the topics covered in the one-day seminar include building political and community support, multiple levels of security, and identifying and pursuing funding opportunities.

Dictation application

With the Speak-Write smartphone application (app) for iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android, users can incorporate photos into their reports. The process involves dictating the narrative portion of the report using the app and, when ready to incorporate a photo, simply pausing, taking a photo, and then continuing dictation. The photos are incorporated into the typed document in the position and order in which they were taken. There is no limit to the number of photos that can be included in a report, and there is no charge for photo integration.
