Tablet
Panasonic introduces the latest member of its Toughpad family of rugged, enterprise-grade tablets. The Toughpad FZ-M1 is a thin, light rugged 7-inch fanless tablet with a fourth generation Intel Core i5 processor. Running Windows 8.1 Pro, it can be easily incorporated into enterprise and government environments. Its 7-inch, 500 nit, daylight-readable WXGA display features an anti-reflective screen treatment, making it ideal for outdoor use. Its high-sensitivity capacitive, 10-point multi-touch screen can even be used with thick industrial-type gloves. An optional stylus is available for signature capture and similar applications.

Flame-resistant clothing

Rescue boats
Willard Marine is supplying two U.S. Coast Guard-approved SEA FORCE 670 SOLAS fast rescue boats (FRBs) for the 418-ft. passenger, roll-on and roll-off ferry M/V Columbia. Each of the two 22-ft. fiberglass 670 FRBs is powered by an inboard 230 HP diesel engine and water jet and can carry up to nine passengers. The boats meet all prescriptive requirements of the international Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) treaty for passenger vessels and roll-on and roll-off ferries that travel on international routes.

Storage solution
MobileStrong HDP is a new, customizable storage solution that helps law enforcement personnel keep equipment organized and secure in their vehicles. Designed to fit all trucks and SUVs, MobileStrong HDP is a system of drawers and compartments that slides into the back of a vehicle for easy storage on the go. The system is made of high-density polyethylene (HDP), a hard, opaque, and strong thermoplastic, wrapped around an internal metal suspension. Baton scabbard

Biometric card
Zwipe announces its new, next-generation biometric card, a contactless smart card credential with on-card fingerprint reading. The Zwipe biometric card quickly reads the user’s fingerprint in less than a second. Eliminating the problems of solely deploying PINs and standard cards, the wirelessly powered Zwipe biometric card lets users authenticate themselves directly on the card through a fingerprint. Only then will the card system activate the lock. This is much more secure than simply using a standard card. The on-card fingerprint scanner with 3D capacitive technology resides on the contactless smart card.

Holographic sights

Bomb prevention information sharing network
TRIPwire, the Technical Resource for Incident Prevention, is the Department of Homeland Security’s 24/7 online, collaborative information sharing network for bomb squad, first responders, military personnel, government officials, intelligence analysts, and security professionals. TRIPwire serves to increase awareness of evolving terrorist improvised explosive device (IED) tactics, techniques, and procedures, as well as providing incident lessons learned and counter-IED preparedness information. Developed and maintained by the Department’s Office for Bombing Prevention, the system combines expert analyses and reports with relevant documents, images, and videos gathered directly from terrorist sources to help users anticipate, identify, and prevent IED incidents. Other features include coverage of IED-related incidents, policy guidance, training resources, and risk assessment tools.

High definition (HD) video camera
VIEVU announces the availability of its LE3. The LE3 is a highly secure HD video camera designed for law enforcement’s usability and evidence standards.
