On December 17, 1967, a hunter found human skeletal remains in a wooded area of Balsam Lake Provincial Park in Victoria County, Ontario, Canada. There was no evidence of clothing at the scene other than a pair of low-cut, size seven, white tennis shoes made in Czechoslovakia.
