This year, the IACP welcomed attendees from across the globe to the 2025 Officer Safety and Wellness Conference in Anaheim, California, March 11–13. With a total attendance of 1,077, participants had numerous opportunities to network with fellow members of the policing community, engage with exhibitors at tabletops and solutions presentations, and gather valuable resources to bring back to their agencies. Attendees also took part in various activities, including mindfulness sessions, tactical wellness exercises, and wall-sit, plank, and push-up challenges.

At the Opening General Assembly, Anaheim Police Department Chief Rick Armendariz welcomed attendees, sharing, “Our job as leaders is to make sure that we create an environment for others to succeed in our organization.” This opening session also featured a panel discussion on the impact of acquired brain injuries (ABI), including detection, prevention, and comprehensive support strategies. Megan Amaturo, with The Cummings Foundation for Behavioral Health, shared, “Roughly 74 percent of officers identify having at least one head injury in their career. For service providers to have the knowledge to know what to look at for [acquired brain injuries], to know what to do, it is really important to have some kind of protocol.”
