Perspectives: June 2026

Adopting a data-driven policing strategy, coupled with building a culture of community-oriented policing, has significantly enhanced public safety outcomes in our jurisdiction.

Each month, our supervisory team meets to thoroughly analyze the previous month’s crime and crash statistics, along with other key indicators. This regular, timely review has proven far more effective than less frequent quarterly or annual assessments, enabling proactive rather than reactive decision-making. By leveraging mapping tools, we can swiftly reallocate resources and prioritize enforcement efforts where they are needed most. Concurrently, we have cultivated a department-wide culture of community policing. Officers are actively engaged in building trust, forging partnerships, and collaborating with residents to identify and address root causes of crime in targeted areas.
