Protecting public and local communities from the threat of domestic violent extremism (DVE) is nothing new and remains a primary focus of police agencies. The most significant change in the threat landscape over the last 5 to 10 years has been the proliferation of online radicalization and the use of social media platforms to fuel a growing threat from “lone wolf” terrorists.
