I have witnessed a significant evolution in the strategies used to address violence. From punitive, enforcement-heavy models to community-centered approaches, the shift reflects the growing understanding of what truly works to reduce violence and build trust. Group Violence Intervention (GVI) is effective in reducing violence while fostering community collaboration. GVI uses data to identify the small number of individuals and groups driving violence, allowing law enforcement to efficiently focus its resources and avoid unnecessary enforcement.
