It is a known fact that the life expectancy of a police officer is greatly impacted by the physical and mental demands of the job. Long and irregular shift hours—often spent in high-stress, high-risk situations—can be detrimental to an officer’s overall health.
The current global life expectancy is around 72 years, but recent estimates show that life expectancy among officers is approximately 20 years less than the average. So what can be done to improve those numbers?
