The IACP and Target announced and recognized the IACP/Target International Police Officer of the Year winner and honorable mentions at an awards luncheon and ceremony during the 2012 IACP Conference in San Diego, California. IACP Immediate Past President Walter A. McNeil reiterated his gratitude toward the brave award recipients. “One of the greatest honors for me as IACP president is to recognize the men and women who put their lives on the line daily to protect the citizens they serve,” he said. “This award can’t be overemphasized because it exemplifies some of the very best that law enforcement has to offer.”
